More than just a ‘participant’: Understanding my role in Die Passagierin at Dutch National Opera

When I first agreed to participate in Die Passagierin at Dutch National Opera,
I saw it primarily as an extraordinary opportunity: my debut on the main stage, in a
ten-minute, non-singing role among 85 participants. Over the course of rehearsals and
performances, however, that “small” role has become one of the most meaningful
experiences of my artistic life.
